The Story Behind the Wisdom

Terry’s parents tied the knot in Nome, Alaska, back in 1948, which is where Terry was born! If he had been born there, he might have had a piece of the Alaska oil fortune. But, alas, he was born in Spokane, WA.

His dad, who was an enlisted Air Force member, spent his career stationed at different bases across the USA and for three years in England.

Terry attended many schools throughout his life. The constant moves didn’t offer the stability that many people appreciate. Friends often came and went, and the subjects taught at each school sometimes didn’t quite line up. Being a “military brat” gave Terry a good grasp of history and geography. England was a fantastic place for a boy between 10 and 13.

Terry worked as a cryptographic technician in the Air Force, holding a top-secret security clearance. He earned a BA in psychology from Chico State, a MPA from the University of San Francisco, and an MS from Springfield College in Organizational Management and Leadership.

Terry has been a mental health counselor, started a computer/software business in the early 1980s, worked as a network administrator, taught part-time at a college for 14 years, and even became a product specialist at the Apple Store in Fort Lauderdale at the age of 75!

He loves writing and creating art with Procreate on his iPad. He lives in Lakeland, Florida, with his wife and two cats.
